Ouagadou International Flightpaths. 2009. Digital drawing on paper, 420mm x 297 mm.
This image is a detail of the work shown at the exhibition Ouagadougou Rendez-vous held in the Burkina Faso capital, curated by Peter Walsh and Kindo Salifou. It shows all international flightpaths grouped in the same colour for each airline.
Pembroke Arms Tank. 2009. Photograph.
This tank of the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry was one of several named after pubs local to the regiment to ‘raise morale and aid identification’* during actions including the Battle of El Alamein. I once worked in the Pembroke Arms where this image was on public display though the version here is taken from a copy in the RWY archive. Today the Pembroke Arms has no visual record of its namesake but a link with military history still exists in many British pubs. * Platt, Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry, 159.
