-1 COLOURED FOAM OR GEL

This invention relates to a coloured foam or gel and to a method of producing a test or temporary beard or moustache on the user's face.

It Is known for males to sometimes wonder how a beard or moustache would affect their personal appearance. It Is also known for males to consider a beard in order to overcome the daily chore of shaving.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a material and method to allow males to consider how they would look with a beard or moustache and to different shapes or types.

According to the present invention a foam or gel contains a colouring to match the colour of a typical beard growth and which will not cause permanent discolouration or irritation of the user's skin.

Thus, the invention also includes a method of producing a test or temporary beard or moustache on the user's face which Includes applying a foam or gel which contains a colounng to match the colour of a typical beard growth and which will not cause permanent discolouration or irritation of the user's skin.

With this material and method the test or temporary beard or moustache can be provided so that the user can consider its affect on his appearance.

The foam or gel which is used as a carrier for the colouring can be similar to that used as a shaving foam or gel.

Preferably the colouring is provided by a water-soluble dye so that the test or temporary beard or moustache can be easily washed off without any discolouratior, of the user's skin remaining.

-2 The dye can be a natural or artificial dye provided it meets the criteria.

The colouring can be arranged to match black, brown, grey or ginger beard growth and the method includes using the foam or gel with the features set forth above. The preparation of shaving foam or gel is well known In itself and will not therefore be described further although the foam or gel can contain antiseptics and other materials. The colouring, for example in the form of a water-soluble dye, can be added either during manufacture or at the end of manufacture after the material has otherwise been prepared.

The user must therefore first select the particular colour which he wishes to apply and use the foam or gel accordingly. Normally a colour would be selected in accordance with the user's natural beard growth but some individuals, for example someone with a light, gray, or white natural hair growth might like to see the effect of a much darker beard or even a beard of a slightly different colour. It is not unknown for some males to have a beard growth which is a quite different colour from their natural hair colour and this can therefore be tested by the user.
